American Poker Online Still Gaining Popularity
For the last 10 years, the enjoyment of Texas Holdem and poker in general has swelled in the USA. The cause of such growth is attributed to the availability of online poker websites and television networks such as ESPN broadcasting the annual World Series of Poker. Millions of Americans started playing online poker.
The legal status of American poker online was unclear. But on September 29, 2006, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (UIGEA) was passed. This law made it illegal for online gambling establishments to process payments from a US bank. At the time, PartyPoker.com was far and away the biggest poker room on the Internet. However, on October 2, 2006 PartyPoker.com's parent company (PartyGaming) announced that it would back out of the US market.
Not every online site decided to shut down their American poker online. Two up and coming sites were PokerStars and Full Tilt. Soon after the UIGEA was passed, PokerStars.com released a statement to their customer base. They said that they didn't believe that the law affected them and that they were committed to remain open.

Full Tilt Poker Bonus
Full Tilt is one of the most well-known digital poker clients, and is currently the second in terms of overall traffic in all of online poker. Full Tilt is the remote destination for many of the most famous poker players, including Jordan Morgan, Phil Ivey, Jennifer Harman, Tom Dwan, Allan Cunningham, David Benyamine and Howard Lederer. FullTiltPoker.net features excellent software, strong tournament play, a wide variety of games including their recently introduced and ultra-popular Rush Poker, and the highest stakes cash games found on the internet. One of the most famous internet poker tournament series, the FTOPS, also is held on on Full Tilt Poker. Perhaps most important, they are one of the few rooms to stand behind their American players following the UIGEA ordeal.
